Dr. La Shawn Denise Witt is an award winning educational consultant & trainer, educator, keynote speaker, lecturer, motivational speaker, author and president of Dr. La Shawn Denise Witt. A native of Los Angeles, California, Dr. Witt worked in the field of education for over 18 years as an Principal, Assistant Principal, Middle School Teacher and various Teacher on Special Assignment positions.
Dr. Witt recently launched an Educational Consulting business. This business will target school districts and provide strategic planning and professional development to schools experiencing teacher shortages, teacher retention matters, and assist districts in the execution of administrative retreats for executive leadership teams and classified/certificated staff development. In addition, she provides training for assistant principals who have a desire to move toward principalship. Dr. Witt has brought innovation to learning and motivational change for leaders, educators, and learners of all kinds of groups in urban, rural, corporate, and educational settings around the globe.

In addition to her strategies, Dr. Witt unique and inspiring presentation style makes her one of the most sought after speakers in education today.
Dr. Witt also works with faith-based organizations and corporations to assist with assessing their organizational structure and build a structure that maximizes efficiency, builds capacity and creates the culture they want. She has successfully identified organizational strengths and stability and incorporated those strengths into planning, reviewed business planning objectives and short-term goals to assess where more support or capacity is needed to reach the goals. She has also provided the management teams with a prioritized set of structural and cultural recommendations, new job descriptions or team communication strategies. Lastly, she continually provides all these organizations with follow-up support.
She is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority- Inglewood Alumnae Chapter where she holds various positions both locally and regionally. Dr. Witt is also a member of Jack and Jill of America where she serves as the Inglewood Associate Chapter’s Correspondence Secretary and Event Coordinator, Tabahani Book Circle and The Links, Incorporated.
Dedicated to her personal educational advancement, she has earned two Bachelor degrees from Loyola Marymount University in Biology and African American studies, a Masters degree in Education including her secondary teaching credential from Pepperdine University, administrative credential with special education leadership certification in the Masters of Education ISLA program from Loyola Marymount University, as well as a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Argosy University. In addition, she has completed graduate level courses in the Masters of Human Services and Personnel Counseling program at Mount Saint Mary's College. She currently attends West Angeles Church of God In Christ. Outside of her professional commitments, La Shawn indulges in her passions of traveling, reading, shopping, attending live concerts, and community service. Dr. Witt currently resides in Inglewood California where she enjoys spending time with the loves of her life, her adult daughter Morgan, who is a Junior at Howard University and her two Shih Tzu’s Dolce & Gabbana.
